About our school

Doonside Public School aims to provide a caring, happy environment in which each child will be equipped with knowledge, skills and acceptance necessary to be an achieving member of our changing society.

Doonside Public School is committed to providing a foundation for learning based upon teaching practices involving strong student welfare principles and explicit teaching. Its staff has a common and firm belief in the positive reinforcement of desired student behaviour in maximizing learning outcomes. The value of role modelling and mentoring - in both the student and staff bodies, is a key component. A discipline policy based upon high expectations in student learning and attendance, clear consequences and open lines of communication between home and the classroom support staff in their endeavours to promote a positive learning environment.
