Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Music & Dance - Performing Groups

In 2021 we have the following groups that children may join during their primary school life.

Dance Troup (Y3-Y6)

This group has been successfully organised by Miss Norton for the past three years. They have a dream of one day making it to School Spectacular. All students in this group attend practices before school and during their lunch.

Music - The Glee Club

The choir mistress for our school is Mrs. Velasco with the assistance of Miss Baluyot. The group is made up of students from K-6. Practices are during the students' lunchtimes.

Both these groups perform during Books in Homes and other whole school assemblies.

Art - Art Club

Art Club was started by Miss Waugh and has continued by Mrs Parahukov. The Art Club has captivated the creativity and imaginations of the students at Doonside Public School. Art club started with teaching students how to sketch cartoon drawings and then moved into chalk colour blending and crayon poster making. Here are a few snaps from our Art Club.
