The School Scheme will take place from Monday 2nd December (Week 9) to Friday 13th December (end of Week 10). Students from years 2 to 6 are able to attend although places are limited to 45 pupils. Each day during the two week period students are taught swimming and water safety and survival skills for one hour by accreditted Department of Education teacher's and swimming instructors.
The cost of lessons is about a third of those offered by the private sector and includes transport to and from Emerton Swim Centre, entrance to the pool and instruction. Students have been given notes with the first instalment of $40 (or full payment of $100 if preferred) due by 25th October ( the end of week 3 ).
