Harmony Day 2013

Harmony Day  takes place each year towards the end of March.  It is a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home- from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world. The message of Harmony Day 2013 is that Everyone Belongs.

At Doonside P.S. we consider the ideal of Harmony to be of the utmost importance to the learning and welfare of all students at our school. Cultural Harmony is supported through our PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) program, our anti-racism and anti-bullying programs,  the inclusivity of our dance and musical  groups, as well as our acknowledgement of, and participation in, a range of various cultural days and celebrations.

During the week where Harmony Day takes place students will have the opportunity  to discuss issues related to harmony, enjoy a range of computer based interractive activities, and create artworks              to celebrate cultural diversity.

On Wednesday 20th March, students are invited to wear orange as the colour of Harmony for our mufti day, and offer a gold coin donation.  All proceeds will be forwarded to the McGrath Foundation.
